Ronit Berkovich, partner in Weil’s Restructuring Department, has been named among the 2022 Notable Women in Law by Crain’s New York Business. The annual list recognized top women in the New York City metropolitan area for their achievements in the law, leadership and contributions to the legal community.
Crain’s New York Business described Ronit as “an anchor partner in one of the world’s top restructuring groups,” which has been exemplified throughout her career and includes serving as debtor’s counsel in the landmark chapter 11 cases of General Motors, Lehman Brothers and WorldCom/MCI. Additionally, the publication highlighted her many achievements over the last 18 months, including how she “has guided global businesses through uncertainty and led some of the most complex restructurings” during an unprecedented and tumultuous period of time.
More recently, Ronit has advised Johnson & Johnson in Imerys Talc’s chapter 11 bankruptcy and co-led the chapter 11 restructuring of EP Energy, the largest U.S. oil and gas bankruptcy in years. Noted by the publication as “one of the country’s foremost attorneys of her generation,” the profile also discussed Ronit’s service on numerous committees, including the National Bankruptcy Conference, an invitation-only group that advises Congress on bankruptcy laws. Crain’s New York Business selected the honorees from a competitive field of nominees in consultation with professionals in New York’s legal and business communities.
