Weil’s Business Finance & Restructuring practice group congratulates Marcia Goldstein for being recognized by Crain’s New York Business as one of its “Notable Women in Law” for 2019. The publication honored a variety of top women attorneys in the New York City metropolitan area who have had a major impact on the profession, highlighting their leadership and commitment to the legal community.

Marcia Goldstein is a partner in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department who formerly served as the department head and was a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. She has practiced with the Firm for more than 40 years in all areas of domestic and international debt restructuring and crisis management.

Ms. Goldstein has served as lead restructuring lawyer in a number of major international and U.S. cases, including: Takata; Chassix, Inc.; the Special Administrators of MF Global UK; General Growth Properties; Extended Stay Hotels; AIG; WorldCom (formerly MCI) and Parmalat. She also represents significant creditor interests in connection with the debt issued by Puerto Rico and its public corporations, and in the chapter 9 cases of Stockton and San Bernardino, California, among other notable engagements.

In addition to this most recent honor by Crain’s, Ms. Goldstein has also been named, among a very select few, to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York Law Journal for 2018 and is a member of several organizations including, the National Bankruptcy Conference, the American College of Bankruptcy and the International Insolvency Institute.
