Business Finance & Restructuring partner Gabriel A. Morgan has been named an “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” by Turnarounds & Workouts for 2020. The highly-competitive and select list recognizes 12 attorneys under age 40 who have worked on the industry’s most prominent bankruptcies and restructurings.
Mr. Morgan was recognized for his outstanding achievements, including for his role advising SoftBank Group in connection with its multibillion-dollar debt and equity investment in WeWork, as well as advising National Public Finance Guarantee Corporation, which insures or owns over $3B of Puerto Rico bonds, in the island’s historic municipal restructuring.
The publication also credited Mr. Morgan for advising Bain Capital and THL in the chapter 11 case of iHeartMedia, and helping spearhead China Fishery Group’s chapter 11 case and cross-border restructuring of $2B of debt and B&G Crane’s distressed sale to Maxim Crane Works. He was noted for his representation of BlueMountain Capital as first lien lenders in FastMed’s out-of-court restructuring and debt-for-equity swap, unsecured lenders HarbourVest and Pantheon in Sheridan Production Partners II’s $1B+ restructuring, and the First Lien Ad Hoc Committee in the chapter 11 case of Uniti master lease counterparty Windstream Holdings.
