We at the Bankruptcy Blog have been toiling all year to keep you informed of all things bankruptcy.  In the spirit of the season, we want to wish all of you a happy and festive holiday season and we wanted to take a moment to step back and thank everyone who continues to do so much for the Bankruptcy Blog.  Of course, thanks are in order for all of our contributors, from the gang here at Weil to our friends at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, LLP, for their insightful “North of the Border Update” posts.  Special thanks to our editors and web team for their tireless efforts to bring you the Bankruptcy Blog day-in and day-out.  Last, but not least, thank you for your support and for your thoughts, questions, and suggestions (keep ‘em coming!).  We’ll be taking a much-deserved break until 2012, but until we return, we at the Bankruptcy Blog wish you a happy holiday season and a joyous New Year.
One word of caution for 2012 and 2013:
Next year, Hannukkah will begin on the evening of December 8, and in 2013, the first candle will be lit on November 27 – the day before Thanksgiving!  (As far as we know, however, Christmas will still occur on December 25 in both of those years.)  Please be aware that for the next two years, a New Year’s bankruptcy filing may yield administrative expense claims for Christmas shipments, but may leave suppliers of Hannukkah goods with general unsecured claims, as such shipments will likely pre-date the 20-day period under section 503(b)(9) of the Bankruptcy Code.  Armed with that foresight, please plan accordingly.
